Kumiko: A Japanese Dining Bar in Chicago

Kumiko is a Japanese Dining Bar (ダイニングバー)* where food and drink are treated with equal reverence. Located in Chicago’s West Loop, Kumiko boasts incredible cocktails and spirits with exquisite food to pair.

Owner and mixologist Julia Momosé blends Japanese ingredients and techniques to create an elevated menu of beverages and bites. 

We offer both an à la carte menu as well as a seasonal tasting menu.

Whether you come to savor some of Japan’s finest saké or walk in for a lovely dinner with friends, Kumiko welcomes you with warmth and gratitude.

Kumiko is open from Wednesday - Sunday, from 6:00 pm.

Reservations may be made via Kumiko’s OpenTable. Walk-ins are welcome at both the bar and the dining room on a first come first served basis. Once our seats are filled, we start a waiting list for next available.

As we have a small, intimate space, we highly recommend parties larger than 2 to make a reservation or call ahead before trying to walk-in.

Most Fridays, our Whisky-Shochu Bar is opening in our lower level. Interested parties may make note the request when booking, or call us for reservations.

Our last seating is at 11:00 pm, and last call is at 11:15 pm. We close at midnight.
